Excerpt from Chapter 3 – “One month later”

It was about seven o clock a.m. on a Monday morning, and Kenyatta
had just finished getting ready for school. , So she grabbed her car keys
off of the nightstand, and went downstairs, left through out of the front door,
and approached to her car ..

Kenyatta got inside of her car, and cranked the engine., Then she
grabbed her already rolled optimo , out of the ashtray. , and she fired it up,
and started smoking, and then she drove off.

Kenyatta drove to her double wide trailer, as she continued to smoke
her optimo. , When Kenyatta finally arrived at her trailer, she had just
finished smoking her optimo, so she threw it out of the window, and put
the car gear in park. , She left the engine running, and got out of the car,
then she walked up on her front porch, and entered the house. She
made her way to the inside, and back to her friend Erica’s bedroom,
a young, black, twelve-year-old girl, who had been living on the
streets.
